Admission requirements
Admission to the Speech Therapy degree program is granted to those who meet the following requirements:
• General qualification for university entrance, subject-specific qualification for university entrance, successful completion of a vocational training qualification, intermediate school leaving certificate (minimum secondary school leaving certificate), and a qualified completion of at least a 3-year recognized vocational training with an average overall or final grade of 2.5 or better (if these grades are not specified, the arithmetic mean of the individual subject grades applies) or (after individual assessment) in accordance with the Regulation on access to universities for professionally qualified individuals in the state of Hesse
• Proof of completion of a three-year vocational training in the field of speech therapy or proof of the start of training as a state-certified speech therapist
• The training-accompanying studies begin at the start of the first semester, parallel to the speech therapy vocational training, which, upon successful completion, will be credited with a total of 90 ECTS. If the vocational training is not successfully completed, the studies cannot be continued. Prospective speech therapists from speech therapy vocational schools can access the training-accompanying study model if they meet the university entrance requirements
• Already professionally active speech therapists will also receive a credit of 90 ECTS based on their completed training by presenting their graduation certificate and their certificate authorizing them to use the professional title "speech therapist".
Further information on specific qualifications will be gladly provided upon request. Applicants who do not meet the mentioned requirements can initially participate in the program as guest auditors if they have been admitted to the university entrance qualification examination.
For foreign qualifications, equivalence must be demonstrated for admission.
For any questions, further information on admission requirements, as well as more details on specific qualifications, please contact the advisors at the Study Services of DIPLOMA University upon request.

Course of study
At DIPLOMA Hochschule, you have the opportunity to study the Bachelor's programme in Speech Therapy in one of two variants, as an online course or as on-site distance learning.
The (online) distance learning programme at DIPLOMA Hochschule is designed according to the "blended learning" principle. This means that you work on the study content with the help of study booklets and attend seminars. These usually take place on 12 to 14 Saturdays per semester—even occasionally in the evenings during weekdays. In the online study, these seminars take place as live online seminars. You can also take your exams online or at an exam centre of your choice. In on-site distance learning, you attend your real presence seminars and exams at your chosen study centre—in Hannover or Leipzig.
Please note: In some elective modules, on-site events are planned, for example, for practical exercises. We will inform you in good time about the time and place so that you can plan these sometimes multi-day events very well.
Costs & Study Start
The (online) distance learning programme at DIPLOMA Hochschule starts every year in the summer semester (April) and winter semester (October) of a year. The start of studies is also possible at any other time after an individual assessment.
You can choose one of four financing models. For example, installment model 3, with 147.00 euros per month and a duration of 60 months. For more installment models and all other information about the degree programme, please visit the Speech Therapy programme page.
