Requirements for enrollment

The distance learning programme in physiotherapy is particularly aimed at trained physiotherapists who want to expand their skills.

You can easily enroll in the physiotherapy programme at Fresenius University: With a general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), the general university entrance qualification or the subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, you can enroll immediately and at any time.

In addition, you must provide evidence of completing a state-recognized physiotherapy training. Alternatively, you have completed a similar vocational training that entitles you to use the professional title of physiotherapist.

An entry without a higher education entrance qualification is also possible, for example if you have completed a master craftsman's examination or a comparable advanced vocational training examination, such as the state-certified technician or the state-certified business administrator. If you can demonstrate at least a two-year completed vocational training in the specific field followed by at least two years of specific vocational experience, you can also enter the physiotherapy programme through the university entrance qualification examination (HZP).

By the way: If you have already completed a degree, you can save costs and time by having prior achievements recognized. In addition to academic achievements, credits can also be transferred for achievements you have obtained outside of a university. In addition, your physiotherapy training will be fully recognized, allowing the study time to be shortened to 3 semesters.

Study Content, Modules, and Specializations

This bachelor's distance learning programme is aimed at qualified physiotherapists who wish to qualify for management positions in their field and acquire basic knowledge of the healthcare sector with special knowledge in the field of physiotherapy. Through training, the programme can be shortened to 3 semesters, during which you will delve into topics such as health promotion & prevention and project management.

In the full-time programme, the course structure is as follows:

• 1st Semester: Introduction project for self-organized learning, Scientific Work, Empirical Work, Health Promotion & Prevention, Evidence-Based Practice, Project Management, Ethical Aspects in Therapy & Research
• 2nd Semester: Interdisciplinary Field of Action, Scientific Methodological Competence in Professional Practice, Therapy-Scientific Aspects of the Lifespan - Senior Age, Therapy-Scientific Aspects of the Lifespan - Children & Youth Age, Evidence-Based Action in Physiotherapy, Fundamentals of Statistics & Classical Test Theory
• 3rd Semester: Therapy-Scientific Aspects of the Lifespan - Adult Age, Science and Research in Physiotherapy, Introduction to Business Administration or Health Economics, Bachelor's Thesis
