These are the admission requirements for the Bachelor's in Health Education
You can enroll in the Bachelor's distance learning programme in Health Education at IU International University (IU) if you provide us with your A-levels (general qualification for university entrance), your technical college entrance qualification (Fachabitur), or a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification.
Alternatively, you can enroll even without A-levels. Studying without A-levels at IU is possible under the following conditions:
- You have successfully completed an advanced training course, for example, a training course to become a state-certified business economist.
- Or you have completed a vocational training, for example, a training as an office clerk. After completing your training, you have worked in this profession full-time for at least 3 years. If your training is not thematically related to the distance learning programme in Health Education, you will first complete a trial study before being regularly enrolled.

The bachelor's degree program at IU International University is modular. A module typically consists of 5 credit points (ECTS) and concludes with an examination, such as an exam or a written assignment. You complete your bachelor's degree step by step - and even largely determine yourself when you want to complete which module.
In full-time studies, you can structure your study plan as follows, for example:
- 1st Semester: Pedagogy: historical, conceptual and terminological basics, introduction to scientific work, health and prevention, introduction to health management, healthcare law, sociology
- 2nd Semester: General Didactics, Collaborative Work, Societal Conditions of Education, Social Policy, Introduction to Lifelong Learning, Societal Change and Social Innovation
- 3rd Semester: Framework of the healthcare market, Clinical Reasoning, Qualitative Research Methods, Personality Psychology & Differential Psychology, Seminar on Didactics for Therapists, Didactics and Methodology of E-Learning and Digital Media

Your first specialisation module can be selected from these topics: Evidence-Based Practice in Speech Therapy, Evidence-Based Practice in Physiotherapy, Evidence-Based Practice in Dietetics, Evidence-Based Practice in Medical Technical Assistance, Evidence-Based Practice in Podiatry.
Your second specialisation module can be selected from these topics: Childhood Pedagogy, General and Diagnostic Foundations of Special Education, Operational Education, Educational and Support Management, Technology in Healthcare and E-Health, Counselling and Coaching (Systemic), Counselling, Diversity, Integration and Migration, Health Economics (Specialisation), Organisational Psychology, Foreign Languages, Gerontology, General Studies.
In the 5th semester of full-time study, you will complete a total of 2 practical modules. In the practical project, you will analyse lessons, plan and conduct teaching sequences independently. Reflecting on your own teaching behaviour in interaction with the institutional and collegial structures of the selected educational institution is intended to enhance your action competence. The practical project can be conducted in healthcare professions institutions, as well as in further education and training.
Study Concept: How the Part-Time Study in Health Education Works at IU
The online study programme in Health Education at IU International University can be flexibly adapted to your life and daily routine as suits you best. For instance, you can choose from 3 study models: In the full-time study, you'll need a total of 6 semesters, i.e. 36 months, to complete the bachelor's degree. In part-time study I, you'll study for 8 semesters until completion. Or you can opt for part-time study II and take up to 12 semesters to complete the bachelor's.
Study materials at IU are provided with each module registration as printed study guides. All materials are also available digitally. The IU Interactive Books are innovative study scripts enriched with video clips and quiz questions at the end of a lesson. Depending on the module, study materials are supplemented with podcasts, live tutorials, and video content in the form of so-called shortcasts. You can access the IU Interactive Books via the practical Learn app from IU.
In many modules, virtual teaching events are also offered, enabling you to interactively engage with your peers and lecturers.
Extremely convenient and flexible: The option to take module exams in the form of online exams. You can write an online exam 7 days a week, around the clock - whenever you feel best prepared for the exam, for example in construction preparation. Additionally, we operate about 40 exam centres in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, where you can also take your exams in the traditional way.
