The following requirements must be met for admission to the five-semester advanced degree programme:
- Completed, at least 3-year professional training as a physiotherapist (state-recognised) with submission of the final certificate and the licence to use the professional title.
- Proof of one of the following school qualifications:
- General university entrance qualification (Abitur), or
- Advanced technical college entrance qualification, or
- Passed master craftsman examination, or
- Intermediate school leaving certificate (at least Realschulabschluss) and completed at least 3-year professional training with a final grade of 2.5 or better, or
- University entrance qualification following individual assessment according to Hessian Higher Education Act.
- Possible without Abitur if the combination of vocational training and school leaving certificate is as described.
- For the training-accompanying course (8 semesters): training contract in physiotherapy and university entrance qualification required.
- Foreign qualifications are recognised if equivalence is proven.

The distance learning Physiotherapy programme is designed for five semesters part-time (210 ECTS) and can be flexibly combined with work and daily life. Your already completed vocational training is recognised with 90 ECTS, which shortens the duration of study. The recommended workload is approximately 20–25 hours per week.
- Course start twice a year: In April (summer semester) and October (winter semester). An individual start is also possible at other times after assessment.
- Blended learning concept: Combination of self-study with digital learning materials, live online seminars and scheduled attendance phases in the 2nd and 4th semesters as well as in selected modules.
- Flexible learning: Most events are conducted online. Attendance dates serve practical deepening, especially in the focuses of health education and sports physiotherapy.
- Assessments: Exams take place either online or at DIPLOMA study centres. Further performances are delivered through term papers, presentations or project work.
