Admission requirements
The study programme Medical Professions is open to those who meet the following requirements:
Proof of completion of a three-year vocational training at a state-recognized vocational school in the fields of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, geriatric care, or health care and nursing (or medical professions such as pediatric nursing, midwifery, emergency medical services, medical-technical assistance MTA, dietitian, or others upon request)
as well as one of the following requirements:
• General qualification for university entrance
• University of Applied Sciences entrance qualification
• Passed master craftsman examination
• Intermediate school leaving certificate (at least secondary school leaving certificate) and a qualified completion of a vocational training lasting at least 3 years, which shows an average overall or final grade of 2.5 or better (if these grades are not indicated, the arithmetic mean of the individual subject grades applies)
• Completion of a professional advancement training of at least 400 hours of instruction, a technical college, or a vocational or administrative academy *
• Final examination in a state-recognized training occupation followed by at least 2 years of professional experience related to the study programme and passing a separate university entrance examination *

Details
The bachelor's degree program in Medical Professions is a part-time study program designed for professionals already working in healthcare, therapy, and nursing professions. Accessible professions with a three-year training period are allowed for this program, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, as well as the general nursing training to become a registered nurse. You can start the program as early as the second year of your training.
The "Medical Professions" (B.A.) program is interdisciplinary and offers an ideal academic further qualification for employees in therapy and nursing professions through a 5-semester (online) distance learning program, allowing them to further their education parallel to their work or training. You will acquire medical, psychological, educational, sociological, and business knowledge that builds upon your current professional qualifications and enhances them with scientific competencies. You will learn to scientifically analyze, represent, and present theories, principles, and methods of health-related concepts on a national and international level. By completing this program, you enhance your chances in the job market, with diverse employment opportunities due to current demographic trends and scientific advancements.
During your studies, you can also choose your own personal, professionally-oriented focus to deepen your skills further.

Study Structure
At DIPLOMA University, you have the option to pursue the bachelor's program in Medical Professions in one of two variants: as an online program or as an on-site distance learning program.
The (online) distance learning program at DIPLOMA University follows the "Blended Learning" principle. This means you study the course materials with the help of study guides and attend seminars. These seminars usually take place on 12 to 14 Saturdays per semester – occasionally also during weekday evenings. In the online program, these seminars are conducted as live online sessions. You can also take your exams online or at an examination center of your choice. In the on-site distance learning program, you attend real presence seminars and exams at your selected study center – in Hannover.
Costs & Registration
The (online) distance learning program at DIPLOMA University begins every year in the summer semester (April) and winter semester (October). You can start the program at any other time following an individual assessment.
