Admission requirements
In order to be admitted to the IST degree programme, you need a general higher education entrance qualification, a technical college entrance qualification, or an equivalent school leaving certificate. Alternatively, a master craftsman's certificate, an advanced training qualification (e.g. as an IHK business specialist), or a completed vocational training with three years of work experience is accepted. Additionally, you need to provide evidence of an internship or work experience of at least three months. You can provide this proof by the beginning of your third semester.

Purpose:
Trainers from all sports fields need to be familiar not only with techniques, traditional training, and how the body functions. They also need social, legal, and analytical skills. In the Bachelor's degree program "Sports Science and Training," you will be taught all the necessary knowledge and skills to optimize your training. You will learn to respond specifically to the needs of your clients, quickly identify and solve problems, and organize yourself independently with data management. This will qualify you for work in various sports facilities or as a self-employed trainer.
Content:
The basis of the program consists of knowledge in sports medicine, diagnostics, and performance control. Exciting topics such as technique, strength building, endurance, regeneration, and sports nutrition are built upon this. Social skills in customer contact and the correct conduct of competition analyses and data management are also essential. Club management, talent development, sports pedagogy, and other interesting modules complete your qualification profile. In addition, you choose your personal focus from a wide range of elective modules.
Type of Study:
The Bachelor's degree program at IST University of Management is offered as a distance learning course. You acquire the necessary knowledge through study materials, online lectures, and exercises flexibly, independent of time and place. Some modules include seminar days where you complement your acquired knowledge with practical knowledge and can exchange ideas with your fellow students and lecturers. Exams are also scheduled flexibly. Each semester, you can choose from six dates in nine German cities and two dates in Innsbruck. Alternatively, you can also take many exams online. Upon completion of the program, you will receive 180 ECTS credits.
