Who benefits from the Master's in Prevention, Sports Therapy and Health Management?

This Master's programme is aimed at bachelor's graduates who want to take on specialist or managerial responsibilities in healthcare, sports therapy or corporate health management. You are addressed if you want to deliberately advance your career in institutions such as rehabilitation centres, hospitals, prevention facilities, gyms or health service providers and underpin it with scientific as well as management-oriented knowledge. The programme is also suitable for those already working in the fitness sector, therapy, health insurance companies or corporate health who wish to qualify for leadership positions.

What formal requirements must you meet?

For admission you need:

  • A bachelor's or comparable university degree of at least six semesters from a university, (technical) university of applied sciences or dual university. Accredited bachelor's programmes from a professional academy are also recognised.
  • Proof of at least 6 ECTS credits from economics courses and 9 ECTS credits from sports science courses from your first degree. Missing ECTS credits can be made up by corresponding bridging courses (General Management or Fundamentals of Sports Medicine). These must be successfully completed before starting the Master's programme.
  • A practical internship of at least three months or equivalent professional experience in the fitness or health sector. This practical period may also consist of several separate periods with different employers. Proof must be provided no later than at the beginning of the 3rd semester.
  • Admission is granted following individual assessment by the selection committee, especially in cases of differing qualifications.

Further notes:

  • Enrollment is also possible without a completed bachelor's certificate, but the certificate must be submitted within six months of the start of studies.
  • Automatic enrolment upon proof of requirements does not take place, but only after confirmation by the university.

Personally, you should have a high level of self-motivation, organisational talent and enjoy digital, flexible learning. Resilience, the ability to work independently and a strong interest in health promotion, sports science concepts and management topics are equally important. Initial practical experience in health-related activities as well as strong communication skills and readiness to think interdisciplinarily and take on responsibility are advantageous.
