Admission requirements
In order to be admitted to the further education master's programme in Transformation Studies: Public Theology and Social Work at the CVJM University, you must provide evidence of a successful completion of a university degree in Religious Education, Community Education, Theology, Social Work, Educational Sciences, Social Sciences, or Pedagogy with a minimum of 210 credit points.
In justified cases, applicants with other academic degrees may be admitted. If your degree comprises 180 credit points, provisional admission is possible. In this case, you must submit additional studies totaling 30 credit points by the time of re-registration for the fourth semester.
Professional experiences with a professional relevance to the course of study can be credited up to 20 credit points; this must be documented in a practical report. The admissions committee will decide on the recognition.
Alternatively, several years of relevant professional experience with appropriate training may lead to admission through an admissions examination.
A qualified statement on study and career motivation (1-2 pages) as well as the fully completed and signed application form are required.

The degree programme "Transformation Studies: Public Theology & Social Work (Master of Arts)" is aimed at individuals who want to actively, creatively, and innovatively shape social change. It combines the disciplines of social work with a focus on social space orientation and community work, as well as theology with an emphasis on public theology.
The part-time online degree programme places particular emphasis on closely integrating theory and practice. A dedicated practical project is developed through scientific reflection, as well as methodological and specialist support across two study projects. As a result, the programme focuses on the ability to design change processes in the church and social field.
