Students learn to support, advise and assist people in difficult life situations.
The programme includes modules on fundamental methods and institutions of social work, psychological and pedagogical basics, personality development, professional integration as well as topics such as diversity, inclusion, interculturality and legal foundations. Furthermore, knowledge is conveyed in the areas of social change, social innovation and digitalisation. Child protection as well as youth services and crisis intervention are also components of the course, along with academic work, health promotion, prevention and management and leadership.
A special feature is the targeted linking of theoretical knowledge with practical tasks during the practical phase, which is supported by supervision and mentoring. Students have the opportunity to regularly exchange ideas with practice partners and further develop the course content. Reflection and documentation take place in the learning diary.
Career prospects exist in child and youth welfare, work with adults and families as well as in the areas of migration, integration and inclusion. Graduates work in locally, supraregionally and internationally networked structures and develop strategies to promote emancipation and participation.
