Admission requirements
Access 1: You have a university entrance qualification (Abitur) or technical college entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife)
- With this qualification, you can register immediately for a course of study at Euro-FH
- It is recommended, but not mandatory, to have at least twelve weeks of professional practical experience related to the chosen degree programme
Access 2: You do not have a university entrance qualification, but have completed a subject-specific advanced training examination:
- You have, for example, one of the following advanced training examinations or an equivalent subject-specific advanced training examination:
- State-certified business administrator
- Certified balance sheet accountant
- Specialist
- Specialist merchant
- State-certified technician
- Master craftsman or - You hold qualification certificates according to the Ship Officer Training Regulation or you have a degree from a recognised vocational school (according to Hamburg school law) or an equivalent recognised qualification or
- You have a degree based on state-specific advanced training regulations for professions in healthcare, social care or social pedagogy comparable to the above-mentioned and
- You also take part in an advisory interview with the Euro-FH expert committee. The advisory interview is conducted by telephone and lasts about 15 minutes. The appointment for the interview is arranged after reviewing your enrolment documents
Access 3: Without a university entrance qualification, with completed vocational training and several years of professional experience
- If you have completed vocational training and subsequently been employed for at least three years (up to two years of childcare and care work is also credited towards professional experience), you can be admitted to study as a so-called "auditor". This means you begin your studies just like regular students and receive all materials and services as your fellow students do, including the ability to take exams.
- Within ten months, you then take the entrance examination at Euro-FH. This consists of a test in German and a test in reasoning and judgement skills. You choose whether to complete a project or a written exam in the respective subjects. We prepare you optimally for the tests so that you can comfortably pass within the allotted time. During the entrance examination period, you also have a monthly cancellation right, meaning you take no risk.
- Upon passing the entrance examination, your status changes from auditor to fully enrolled student. You will then receive a certificate of your already completed academic and examination achievements and continue your studies seamlessly.

The aim of the degree programme is to provide students with a scientific and practice-oriented education that enables them to take on responsible tasks in the field of social management. Students acquire specialised knowledge and skills in the areas of social work and management. Of particular note are the competencies taught in remuneration negotiations and in managing financial resources.
This degree programme is aimed at individuals who wish to combine meaningful work in the social sector with economic aspects. Graduates of the programme can thus expand their management skills and discover new professional perspectives without being directly involved in care work.
The Social Management degree programme extends optionally over 36 or 48 months and is suitable both for those with university entrance qualifications and for individuals already working in the social field who wish to further qualify at a higher level. It also appeals to those from administrative areas who see the combination of cost-effectiveness and social tasks as meaningful.
The study content, amounting to 180 ECTS, encompasses both economic and social work knowledge. In addition, leadership skills, organisational abilities, and knowledge in administration and evaluation are imparted to meet the demands of modern social management.
