These are the admission requirements for the Master's Programme in Mediation and Conflict Management

Indiana University offers the Master's in Mediation and Conflict Management in a shortened 60-ECTS variant, lasting 2 semesters in full-time study. A first academic degree with a minimum grade of 'satisfactory' is required.

Depending on the extent of your previous degree, you may need to demonstrate additional work experience:

  • If your first academic degree is 180 ECTS, you'll need to take 30 ECTS courses and prove at least 1 year of relevant work experience. Alternatively, you can demonstrate at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • If your degree is 210 ECTS, you must show at least 1 year of qualified work experience gained after your studies.
  • If your degree is 240 ECTS, as is often the case with many diploma degrees, no work experience is required.

International applicants must also demonstrate their proficiency in German, for example, through TestDaF, DSH, Telc, or ÖSD exams.

Study Concept: How the Part-time Study in Mediation and Conflict Management at IU Works

At IU International University, the online study programme in Mediation and Conflict Management can be flexibly adjusted to fit your life and daily routine as best suits you. For example, you can choose one of 3 study models: In the full-time study, you need a total of 2 semesters, i.e., 12 months, to complete your Master. In part-time study I, you study for 3 semesters until you graduate. Or you opt for part-time study II and take 4 semesters to complete your Master.

With each module enrollment, you will receive study materials in printed study booklets from IU. Naturally, all materials are also available digitally. The IU Interactive Books are innovative learning scripts enriched with video clips and quiz questions at the end of each lesson. Depending on the module, study materials are supplemented with podcasts, live tutorials, and video content in the form of shortcasts. You can access the IU Interactive Books through the convenient IU Learn app.

In many modules, virtual classes are also offered, allowing you to interactively engage with your peers and instructors.

One particularly practical and flexible feature is the option to take module exams in the form of online exams. You can take an online exam 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, at a time that suits you best and when you feel adequately prepared, for example, for an exam in construction. Additionally, we operate around 40 exam centres in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland where you can also take your exams in the traditional online format.
