The Master of Arts in Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Wuppertal combines practical orientation with a solid theoretical foundation. Work and organizational psychology as a design science equally pursues the goals of quality, productivity, and humanity. The program avoids an overly theoretical emphasis as well as a theory-free pragmatism in achieving these goals, and imparts a scientifically founded reflective and action competence. We provide you with the necessary knowledge to understand, evaluate, and shape your work environment in its psychological effects. Scientific knowledge gain and high practical orientation are not contradictory for us, but rather our aspiration. If you want to expand your professional fields of action and improve your career opportunities, work and organizational psychology will provide valuable support with the motto: Success through expanding competencies.

The program consists of four semesters and combines distance learning with on-site events. During the on-site events, students engage in personal exchange and benefit from renowned experts who acquaint them with the latest insights of work and organizational psychology.

Limiting the number of participants to a maximum of 35 students ensures intensive individual support and a good balance between study, work, and private life. The target group includes individuals who want to enhance their skills to broaden their professional opportunities. The program offers a diverse learning experience by mixing students with different academic and professional backgrounds.

The combination of work experience with new psychological skills enables graduates to pursue new professional paths or expand their existing roles. Prerequisites for participation include an initial professional qualification and at least one year of work experience. The program is offered both in the summer and winter semesters. Applications are accepted continuously, and enrollment is based on the date of receipt.

The study contents of the program are aimed at providing students with an understanding of the psychological aspects of various work environments and equipping them with the necessary skills to work successfully in this field.

The accreditation by the ZEvA until September 2024 confirms the quality and relevance of the program. The evaluation report provides insights into the structure and content of the program. The reaccreditation process is already underway and will be completed soon.
