Admission requirements
Access 1: You have Abitur or Fachhochschulreife
- with this qualification you can immediately enroll in studies at Euro-FH
- also recommended, but not required, is a minimum of twelve weeks of practical work experience related to the chosen course of study
Access 2: You do not have Abitur, but have completed a subject-specific further education examination:
- You have, for example, completed one of the following further education examinations or an equivalent subject-specific further education examination:
- State-certified business economist
- Accountant
- Specialist business administrator
- Specialist merchant
- State-certified technician
- Master or - You have certificates of competence according to the Ship Officer Training Regulation or you have completed a course at a recognized technical school (according to the Hamburg School Law) or an equivalently recognized qualification or
- You have a qualification according to state-specific further education regulations for professions in the healthcare sector, in the field of social care or social pedagogical professions, which are comparable to the above and
- You also participate in a consultation with the specialist committee of the Euro-FH. The consultation will be conducted by telephone and will last approximately 15 minutes. The appointment for the conversation will be scheduled after reviewing your registration documents
Access 3: Without Abitur, with a completed vocational training and several years of professional experience
- If you have completed vocational training and have been employed for at least three years afterwards (up to two years of childcare and caregiving can also be counted towards employment), you can be admitted to study as a so-called "guest auditor." This means that you start your studies just like regular students and receive all documents and benefits like your fellow students, including taking exams.
- Within ten months, you will then take the entrance examination at Euro-FH. This consists of an exam in German and an exam in critical thinking and reasoning. You can choose whether you want to complete a project work or an exam in the respective subjects. We will prepare you optimally for the exams so that you can easily complete them within the specified time. By the way, during the entrance examination, you have a monthly right of termination, so you do not take any risks.
- After passing the entrance examination, your status changes from a guest auditor to a regular student. You will then receive proof of your already completed study and examination achievements and continue your studies seamlessly.

The Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology at the European University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg offers a comprehensive study programme based on the guidelines of the German Society for Psychology (DGPs) and the Professional Association of German Psychologists (BDP). The course provides basics of psychology, applied diagnostics, scientific research methods, and interdisciplinary skills.
Students have the opportunity to choose from six different application areas, including two specialization areas. This allows students to acquire specific knowledge in various areas of psychology and to develop an individual profile. The programme also includes a professional internship, an experimental internship, and an application-related thesis, enabling students to directly apply their acquired skills.
The programme is offered part-time alongside work or as a full-time distance learning course. Additionally, an online evening study option with fixed scheduling and regular live webinars is available with two starting dates per year. This enables working students with tight schedules to successfully complete their studies.
The target group for this programme includes working professionals with a non-psychological undergraduate degree or relevant training, as well as first-time students with a (technical) high school diploma without work experience, aspiring to obtain an academic degree in psychology. Successfully completing the programme with the academic degree "Bachelor of Science" (B.Sc.) allows for the title of psychologist after a consecutive master's degree.
