These are the admission requirements for the Master's programme in Applied Psychology and Counselling
The Master's in Applied Psychology and Counselling lasts for 4 semesters in full-time study and 6-8 semesters in part-time study. A first degree with a focus on Psychology, such as a bachelor's degree or diploma, is required. If your first degree has a different focus, you may still be enrolled through an entrance examination.
The final grade of your first degree should be at least "satisfactory".
Foreign applicants must also demonstrate their German language skills, for example, via TestDaF, DSH, Telc, or ÖSD.
If you opt for the English-language version, you must also prove your English proficiency. For instance, you can demonstrate your English skills through a TOEFL (at least 80 points), IELTS (at least Level 6), a passing Duolingo English test (at least 105 points), a Cambridge certificate (at least grade B), or an equivalent qualification. Alternatively, you can take a free English course directly at IU International University.

Study Concept: How the Part-Time Study of Applied Psychology and Counseling at IU Works
The online program of Applied Psychology and Counseling at IU International University allows you to flexibly adjust your studies to fit your life and daily routine. For example, you can choose from 3 study models: In the full-time program, it takes a total of 4 semesters, equivalent to 24 months, to complete the master's degree. In Part-Time Study I, you study for a total of 6 semesters. Or you opt for Part-Time Study II and take 8 semesters to complete the master's.
With each module enrollment, you receive study materials from IU in the form of printed study booklets. All materials are also available digitally. The IU Interactive Books are innovative learning scripts enriched with video clips and end-of-lesson quiz questions. Depending on the module, the study materials are supplemented with podcasts, live tutorials, and video content in the form of so-called Shortcasts. You access the IU Interactive Books via the convenient IU Learn App.
Many modules also offer virtual lectures that allow you to interactively engage with your fellow students and lecturers.
Especially convenient and flexible is the option to take module exams in the form of online exams. You can take an online exam 7 days a week, around the clock, when you feel best prepared for the exam, for example, in construction technology. Additionally, we operate around 40 exam centers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, where you can also take your exams in-person in a traditional manner.
