Who is the Master's Degree in Applied Psychology suitable for?
The part-time Master's degree is aimed at graduates of a Bachelor's degree in Psychology who want to deepen their knowledge purposefully and further qualify themselves in practice-oriented application fields of psychology. If you are aiming for a career in counselling, coaching, therapy, occupational health management, addiction prevention, or other applied areas, this course of study is particularly suitable. If you also benefit from the flexibility of the semi-virtual study model, the course can be optimally combined with work and family life.
What formal requirements must you meet?
For admission, you need a completed Bachelor's degree in Psychology with 210 ECTS and a minimum grade of 3.0. If your Bachelor's degree comprises only 180 ECTS, you can make up for missing credits through internships or special bridging courses (pre-modules). There is no Numerus clausus (NC). The degree generally qualifies you to pursue a doctorate and is recognised by the Berufsverband Deutscher Psychologinnen und Psychologen.

What content can you expect in the Master’s in Applied Psychology?
In the part-time Master’s programme in Applied Psychology at the German University of Health and Sport, you will acquire specialist skills in scientific psychology and deepen practical methods. In the first semester, fundamental topics such as psychological diagnostics and test theory, neuroscience, integrative clinical psychology, as well as advanced research methods are included in the curriculum. The Professional Identity project seminar supports you in sharpening your position in the field of psychology.

What is the structure of the studies and what makes the concept special?
The programme is designed for four semesters and follows a semi-virtual model, which combines e-learning with regular attendance phases. You benefit from a modern learning platform, structured online modules and one to two attendance days per module. Theory and practice are taught in close conjunction, supported by small learning groups and personal supervision.
The courses, practical projects and workshops promote independence and the direct application of your knowledge in the profession. Practice partners, lecturers from the field and a strong focus on the requirements of current psychological activities support you in your development. In the specialisations, you can optionally have previously acquired certificates recognised as module credits, which leads to a time saving in your studies.
You study at various locations throughout Germany or take individual modules entirely online.
