The distance learning programme "Psychology" at the European Distance University Hamburg leads to a Master of Arts degree and lasts for 24 months. The course comprises a total of 120 ECTS points and is designed for individuals who want to deepen and broaden their psychological knowledge.
The course content covers various areas such as cognitive psychology, applied social psychology, research methods, psychological diagnostics, internship, humanistic and systemic approaches, political psychology, positive psychology, psychological health promotion, self-experience and relaxation, applied personality research, emotion psychology, developmental psychopathology, evaluation and applied diagnostics, neuropsychology and neuropsychological diagnostics, transformation research and grounded theory, leadership and decision making, leadership & performance management, management decision making, key competencies of leaders, family systems, theories and application fields of family psychology, family relationships and developmental processes, family demands and interventions, sustainability and resource orientation, psychology and sustainability: theories and application fields, environmentally responsible behaviour and sustainable consumption, prevention and intervention in societal conflicts, demographic change, gerontopsychology, gerontopsychological diagnostics and intervention, lifelong learning, communication and counselling, concepts and approaches in counselling psychology, psychology of digital communication, intercultural communication, work and education, education and promotion in childhood, work psychology, risk perception and management, human factors, management decision making, risk perception and risk communication; project work with colloquium & master's thesis.
Students have the opportunity to attend on-site seminars for 8 days as well as online seminars for 8 days. The course requires an average workload of 33 hours per week.
