Admission requirements
Passed bachelor's examination in psychology at DIPLOMA University with at least "satisfactory" or passed bachelor's or diploma examination in a related or similar field of study at another university or college with a minimum of 180 credits and at least "satisfactory" or an equivalent foreign degree in a related or similar field with a standard period of study of at least six semesters (equivalent to 180 credits) with at least "satisfactory".Applicants whose final grade of their first academic degree is "sufficient" are not eligible for the master's programme. Applicants with a grade of "satisfactory" must demonstrate in a classification interview that they are capable of successfully completing a master's programme.
Please note: In order to successfully complete the master's programme, you need a minimum level of competence in statistics, clinical psychology, as well as the basic subjects of psychology. Based on an individual assessment of prior knowledge in these areas, it will be decided if participation in bridging courses may be necessary.

The Master's distance learning programme in Psychology at DIPLOMA Hochschule offers a solid education with a clear focus on Clinical Psychology and psychological empowerment. The programme is aimed at those who wish to acquire a method-oriented understanding of psychology and is offered in cooperation with MEU in Magdeburg. The programme is available in both part-time over five semesters and full-time over four semesters, with a total of 120 ECTS earned. The curriculum is specifically designed to train skills in the field of psychotherapy, following the standards of the German Society for Psychology (DGPs).
\r\nStudents will gain competencies in various areas such as psychological diagnostics, quantitative research methods, and communicating scientific results. In addition to the core curriculum, students can further specialise through elective courses in Clinical Neuropsychology or Cognitive Psychology. The programme is highly practice-oriented, with regular practice sessions and a 9-week internship integrated, which can be completed in social institutions or in the business sector. Approximately a quarter of the seminars take place in person, either in Magdeburg or Munich, providing the opportunity to interact directly with lecturers and fellow students.
\r\nGraduates have the opportunity to pursue a career in psychosocial health promotion, preventing mental disorders, or in personnel management. The path to psychotherapy training is also open, depending on the specific regulations of each country. The Master's programme also offers the possibility of pursuing a doctorate and is a recognized international qualification.
