To enrol in the Psychology degree programme at PFH Göttingen, you need to have a university entrance qualification according to the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act, which means a vocational baccalaureate diploma or a general qualification for university entrance.
Admission without a university entrance qualification is possible,
- if you can demonstrate completion of vocational training and at least 3 years of professional experience in a field related to the desired course of study,
- or if you have passed a master craftsman's examination based on the Vocational Training Act, the Crafts Code, or the Seafarers' Act,
- or if you have obtained a state-certified qualification as a business economist,
- or if you have an IHK (Chamber of Commerce) or HWK (Chamber of Skilled Crafts) qualification as a specialist merchant or specialist business economist with prior vocational training.
By the way, there is no numerus clausus. You can apply for the Psychology degree programme directly without any annoying selection or aptitude tests.

Study Materials: Blended Learning at PFH
As the psychology degree programme is designed as a part-time distance learning course, you will receive all study materials in the form of distance learning booklets in both printed and digital form. You work through the materials independently, always supported by the lecturers and professors at PFH.

The study materials are complemented by online events and face-to-face seminars, which take place approximately once per semester.
Duration of Studies: 8 Semesters Part-Time or 6 Semesters Full-Time
You typically study for 8 semesters until you obtain your bachelor's degree. If you can provide evidence of previous achievements from other degree programmes, the duration of your studies may be shortened. Contact the student advisory service at PFH to be placed in a higher semester of the psychology programme.
If you are particularly motivated, you can complete the entire psychology programme in 6 semesters: In this case, you submit a letter of motivation with your application, explaining why you are able to dedicate the extra time required.
Cost of the Psychology Distance Learning Programme at PFH
The tuition fees for the B.Sc. Psychology at PFH amount to a total of €12,602, including examination fees.
In the full-time 6-semester programme, you pay €332 monthly. In the part-time 8-semester programme, you pay €249 monthly.
Tip: Have your previous achievements recognized, such as from your vocational training or previous study periods, to reduce the tuition fees. You may also be able to fully deduct the tuition fees for tax purposes.
