Admission requirements

Required:

In order to directly enroll in the degree program, you need to have the general qualification for university entrance (Abitur), a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, or a technical college entrance qualification.

Under certain conditions, you can also start studying directly with a state-recognized qualification as an educator or remedial educator. The legal provisions of § 58 of the Baden-Württemberg State University Act apply for access to the bachelor's program. This includes, among other things, possessing the general qualification for university entrance, a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, or a technical college entrance qualification.

As an educator or remedial educator with the appropriate training, you can start your bachelor's studies directly.

Don't have a high school diploma or technical college entrance qualification?

Recognized advanced training and technical school diplomas (e.g. technician, master craftsman, business administrator, specialist business administrator, educator, etc.) in combination with a consultation interview also entitle you to study.

If you do not have an advanced training or technical school diploma but have completed vocational training and work experience, you can start your studies after successfully passing the university aptitude test.

We require proof of German language proficiency from foreign prospective students. There are several ways to provide this proof, such as:

  • DSH-2 (German Language Examination for University Entrance)
  • C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
  • TestDaF level 4 (Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache - Test of German as a Foreign Language)
  • A school leaving certificate equivalent to a German university entrance qualification

Recommended Knowledge:

  • English language skills at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
  • Depending on the specialization: Basics of social work, health management, nutrition science, nutritional physiology, biochemistry of nutrition, and/or educational psychology

Missing recommended prerequisites can be acquired during the course of the propaedeutics.
