- A completed recognized vocational training of at least two years and at least two years of professional experience in a related field. Additionally, you must take a subject-specific university entrance examination.
- Successfully completed professional advancement training (e.g. master craftsman’s certificate, technician’s qualification, specialist or business administrator training with at least 400 hours). Here too, the subject-specific university entrance examination is necessary.
- Completed vocational training of at least three years (final grade at least 2.5) and intermediate school leaving certificate. If the final grade is lower, an additional subject-specific examination is required. In this case, you will initially start with a study agreement and must achieve a minimum number of credit points in the first year of study.
- Previous achievements such as a state-recognised training as an educator can be credited (up to 60 ECTS points), allowing you to start directly in a higher semester.

- Willingness to engage with management and leadership tasks, e.g. personnel management, quality management and legal aspects of educational institutions

Course Progression and Structure of the Distance Learning Programme
The programme is designed for maximum flexibility and individual planning:
- Duration of Study: Depending on your personal pace, you can choose between 36, 48 or 72 months; enrolment is possible at the beginning of any month.
- Learning Format: All compulsory content, study materials and examinations are handled fully digitally via the learning platform “studynet”.
- Examinations: Primarily alternative examination formats such as essays, presentations, project work and open-book exams; traditional written exams are minimised and can usually be taken online.
- Study Organisation: The programme does not follow a fixed semester rhythm – you determine the pace and order of your modules yourself and can choose modules in parallel or consecutively.
- Professional Internship: In the fifth semester, a 100-day internship is required, which is a prerequisite for state recognition.
- Support: A personal study coach supports you throughout your studies, along with regular opportunities to contact lecturers via online office hours, forums and live webinars.
- Studymags and Digital Library: Multimedia learning booklets, videos, exercises and academic literature are available digitally; printed learning materials can be optionally booked.

- Double Qualification: After successful completion, you can apply for the title “State-recognised Early Childhood Educator” in addition to the Bachelor’s degree.
The degree comprises a total of 180 ECTS credits and corresponds to a full Bachelor’s degree according to international standards.
