These are the admission requirements for the Master's program E-Counselling in Education

We offer the Master's program E-Counselling in Education in a shortened 60-ECTS variant, which lasts 2 semesters in full-time study. A first degree with a grade of at least "satisfactory" is required.

Depending on the scope of your degree, you may need to provide additional evidence of professional experience:

  • If your first degree comprises 180 ECTS, you need to take courses worth 30 ECTS and demonstrate at least 1 year of relevant work experience. Alternatively, you can demonstrate at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • If your degree comprises 210 ECTS, you must demonstrate at least 1 year of qualified work experience, which you gained after completing your studies.
  • If your degree comprises 240 ECTS, as is often the case with many diploma degrees, you do not need to provide evidence of work experience.

Foreign applicants must also demonstrate their knowledge of German, for example, through tests such as TestDaF, DSH, Telc, or ÖSD.

The Master's programme at IU International University is modular in structure. You can tailor the online study programme E-Counselling in Education at IU International University to fit your life and daily routine as best suits you. For example, you can choose from 3 study models: In the full-time programme, it takes a total of 2 semesters, or 12 months, to complete your Master's degree. In part-time programme I, you study for 3 semesters until graduation. Or you can opt for part-time programme II and take 4 semesters to complete the Master's.

You receive study materials from IU in printed study booklets with each module enrollment. All materials are also available digitally. The IU Interactive Books are innovative learning scripts enriched with video clips and quiz questions at the end of a lesson. Depending on the module, study materials are complemented with podcasts, live tutorials, and video content in the form of shortcasts. You can access the IU Interactive Books through the convenient IU Learn app.

In many modules, virtual lectures are also offered, allowing you to interactively engage with your peers and lecturers.

Extremely convenient and flexible is the option to take module exams in the form of online exams. You can take an online exam 24/7, 7 days a week, whenever you feel best prepared for the exam, for example, in building construction. Additionally, we operate around 40 exam centres in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland where you can also take your exams in the traditional on-site manner.
