Here are the admission requirements for the Bachelor of Education
You can enroll in the Bachelor's distance learning program in Education at IU International University (IU) if you provide us with your secondary school leaving certificate (general higher education entrance qualification), your technical college entrance qualification (vocational baccalaureate), or the subject-specific higher education entrance qualification.
Alternatively, you can also enroll without a secondary school leaving certificate. Studying without a secondary school leaving certificate at IU is possible under the following conditions:
- You have successfully completed an advanced training qualification, such as a training course to become a state-certified business economist.
- Or you have completed a vocational training, for example, training as an office clerk. After completing your training, you have worked in this profession full-time for at least 3 years. If your training is not thematically related to the distance learning program in education, you will first complete a trial study before being regularly enrolled.

The bachelor's programme at IU International University is modular. A module usually comprises 5 credits (ECTS) and concludes with an examination achievement, such as an exam or a written paper. This way, you complete your bachelor's degree step by step – and even largely determine when you want to complete which module.

Study Concept: How the Part-time Education Programme in Education Works at IU
The online education programme in Education at IU International University can be flexibly adjusted to fit your life and daily routine as it suits you best. For example, you can choose one of 3 study models: In the full-time programme, you will need a total of 6 semesters, or 36 months, to complete your bachelor's degree. In part-time programme I, you will study for 8 semesters until completion. Or you can opt for part-time programme II and take up to 12 semesters to complete your bachelor's degree.
You will receive study materials at IU with each module registration as printed study booklets. All materials are also available digitally. The IU Interactive Books are innovative learning scripts enriched with video clips and quiz questions at the end of each lesson. Depending on the module, study materials are supplemented with podcasts, live tutorials, and video content in the form of so-called shortcasts. You can access the IU Interactive Books via the convenient IU Learn app.
Additionally, many modules offer virtual lectures that allow you to interact interactively with your fellow students and lecturers.
A particularly practical and flexible feature is the option to complete module exams in the form of online exams. You can take an online exam 7 days a week, 24 hours a day – whenever you feel best prepared for the exam, for example, in construction preparation. Furthermore, we have about 40 exam centres in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland where you can also take your exams in the traditional on-site manner.
