Requirements

For example, with your Master's degree in Business Education, you can work in personnel development, in training and further education, or as a vocational school teacher

You already have a first university degree in business with at least 180 ECTS. If you have a first non-business university degree, you can start the Master's programme after completing the certificate programme Basic Business Studies. This will provide you with the business basics required for the Master's programme.

You also have at least 12 months of relevant work experience and English skills at the B2 level of the Cambridge Certificate. If you have not taken a test, you can also demonstrate your English skills in a phone conversation with the study management.

Special requirements from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Baden-Württemberg apply for access to the preparatory service for teaching at vocational schools. Applicants aiming for lateral entry into the preparatory service for the higher secondary school level at vocational schools in Baden-Württemberg must meet the following requirements:

  • You have completed a business administration undergraduate degree.
  • After completing the Master's programme, you must demonstrate a minimum number of ECTS in the subjects of Business Administration (BWL) and Economics (VWL). In particular, in the subject of Economics, you can make up ECTS at Allensbach University.
  • To be admitted to the preparatory service, you must also prove one year of work experience. In addition, in the Master's programme in Business Education, you must achieve a specific grade point average.

Career Change to Teaching

This part-time course enables you, under certain conditions, to make a side-entry into teaching at vocational schools. To become a vocational school teacher, you must first complete a teaching internship after your master's degree. In Baden-Württemberg, where the Allensbach University is located, the internship lasts 18 months.

In addition to an undergraduate degree in the field of business economics, a minimum number of ECTS in business administration and economics are required for admission to the teaching internship. Any missing ECTS can also be obtained during the master's program at Allensbach University. Please contact our student advisory service to have your qualifications checked in detail.

It should be noted that admission requirements for the teaching internship vary from state to state. For example, entry in Bavaria is not possible. Read more about side-entry in Baden-Württemberg here.

Course Structure in Distance Learning at Allensbach University

In distance learning at Allensbach University, you learn with online lectures. Presence and exams are kept to a minimum

In distance learning at Allensbach University, you study absolutely flexibly time- and location-independent. Before starting your studies, please have your individual requirements checked and previous achievements recognized. This way, you may be able to shorten the standard study period of 4 semesters in full-time studies for the Master's in Business and Economics Education.

You can also study part-time. You can extend the standard study period of 4 semesters by up to 12 months at no additional cost, allowing you to complete your master's degree in 6 semesters. If you need more time, you will pay a reduced semester fee for additional semesters.

Study materials are available to you in both digital and printed form. At Allensbach University, you learn not only with scripts but also with lectures. Unlike traditional universities, the lectures are not held on-site but online. All lectures are also available as video recordings.

By the way, we keep onsite attendance to a minimum. You take exams at one of our numerous exam centres in Germany. You decide when to take your exams - we offer a total of 9 exam dates per year. We also keep the number of exams to a minimum: In many modules, instead of an exam, you can also take alternative forms of assessment such as essays, submission assignments, or oral exams.
