Admission requirements

For admission to the Bachelor distance learning programme in Early Childhood Education, you must meet the following requirements:

Proof of completion of a vocational training as a state-recognized educator or an equivalent professional initial qualification in the fields of education, pedagogy, and social pedagogy (e.g. remedial educator, diploma social pedagogue, primary school teacher) and Proof of at least 12 months of professional experience in this field General higher education entrance qualification University of Applied Sciences entrance qualification Intermediate school leaving certificate (at least secondary school leaving certificate) and qualified completion of at least a 3-year recognized vocational training with a minimum grade of 2.5

If the mentioned requirements are not met, you can initially participate in the study as an auditor, provided that you are admitted to the HZB examination. The equivalence of foreign qualifications must be demonstrated for admission.

The Bachelor's programme Early Childhood Education - Leadership and Management in Early Childhood Education at DIPLOMA University is aimed at professionals in the field of pedagogy, especially educators, who wish to take on leadership and management responsibilities. This programme provides skills for managing childcare centres and other educational institutions in the early childhood sector. Setting itself apart with its practical components, including a 100-day practical phase which can be partially replaced by professional experience.

Students receive a solid academic education in early childhood educational fields, educational management, communication, quality management, as well as inclusion and law. The programme prepares participants for career advancement into leadership positions in childcare facilities, after-school care, as well as other institutions for early childhood development. Additionally, there is the opportunity to obtain the qualification of a state-recognised early childhood educator, covering a wide range of professional and thematic fields such as facility management, specialist consultation, and inclusive and intercultural educational work.

The flexible study models allow for a fully online study programme with live seminars or a combination of online and on-site modules, depending on the students' preferences. This provides maximum flexibility for an individualised learning experience. The study programme generally starts on the 1st of April or 1st of October each year, but also at any time after an individual assessment.
