Admission requirements
You need a university entrance qualification, such as Abitur, Fachhochschulreife, or a subject-specific university entrance qualification. Alternatively, you can be admitted with a completed vocational training (minimum average grade of 2.5) or a master's degree. An appropriate practical placement with a recognized partner of the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences must be available.Details
The dual Bachelor's degree programme in Education and Care offers you the opportunity to comprehensively prepare for a career in social work with children. This practical-oriented programme combines the learning locations of university and practice through a systematic cooperation governed by an agreement.
The programme is aimed at individuals who aspire to a career in the social sector and wish to combine theory with practical experience. Students acquire important competencies in fundamental knowledge, professional practice, and lifeworld-oriented fields of practice.
The programme is divided into seven semesters, with a part-time option also available spanning twelve semesters. In addition to online learning phases, regular attendance and project phases are planned where the acquired knowledge can be applied in practice. A practical study semester is also offered, which is required for state recognition as a social pedagogue.
A special highlight of the programme is the state recognition, which enables you to work as a social worker or social pedagogue in Rhineland-Palatinate upon completion. Along with the Bachelor's degree, this programme not only provides a solid foundation for the start of your career but also the opportunity for further studies at a Master's level.
