Equality in education and inclusion are the guiding principles of the vocationally integrated Bachelor's degree programme in Early Inclusive Education. Accordingly, the cross-cutting categories of Disability, Migration, and Poverty can be found throughout the entire range of courses. The starting point for Early Inclusive Education is the appreciation of differences, specifically relating to

 

- Girls and boys with and without disabilities, - Girls and boys with and without a migration background, - Girls and boys from families with various socio-economic backgrounds.

 

During the online modules, students acquire differentiated expertise in dealing with diversity. In face-to-face events, they develop competencies including pedagogical approaches (e.g. Montessori and Reggio Emilia pedagogy) and in the fields of Didactics and Methodology. The study programme also imparts the ability to design educational processes in line with a pedagogy of diversity.

 

Study Content

The programme consists of 17 online modules, 7 face-to-face modules, and 2 practical projects, the contents of which are interlinked. Each semester offers 2 to 3 online modules and 1 face-to-face module.

 

The structure of the online modules is divided into the following areas:

- Education and Development - Educational Institutions and Socialization Instances - Diagnostics and Counselling - Pedagogy of Diversity - Language and Motor Skills - Organization and Law - International Perspectives on Early Childhood Education.

 

The structure of the face-to-face modules is divided into the following areas

 

- Pedagogical Approaches in Early Childhood Education Institutions - Introduction to Scientific Work - Help Planning and Promotion Concepts - Project Work and Documentation - Internal Differentiation and Didactics - Management and Administration.

 

Practical projects take place in both the 1st and 2nd semester as well as in the 5th and 6th semester. The subject knowledge acquired during the course is put to the test in professional practice during these phases.
