Admission requirements

Prospective students must have a minimum of six semesters of professional qualification from any discipline and then be able to demonstrate at least one year of relevant professional experience.

Without a university degree, access is possible through a university entrance qualification (e.g. general qualification for university entrance or master's examination), provided that there is at least three years of relevant professional practice and participation in an aptitude test.

Details

The postgraduate Master's programme in School Management is designed for individuals in leadership positions in schools or other educational institutions, as well as educators aspiring to leadership roles. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge about implementing and improving school development processes, including organizational, personnel, and instructional development.

Throughout the programme, essential topics will be addressed, including:

Foundations of learning and change processes, management concepts, and leadership theories Development priorities of German educational policy and current educational developments Strategies for action and in-depth knowledge in team development and personnel management Salutogenic leadership behaviour and digitalization in education Research on school and instructional development Concepts of school development and quality management

Among other things, digital media will be examined as teaching and learning tools. These topics are integrated into practice through attendance phases held in Kaiserslautern.

After four semesters, consisting of theoretical and practical modules, students will complete their studies with a master's thesis. The programme promotes a practice-oriented, scientifically sound education and addresses current and future educational and school policy challenges.
