Admission requirements

Prerequisite for admission to the Bachelor's programme at APOLLON University is a three-year training in nursing, paediatric nursing or elderly care, completed from the year 2003 onwards. Admission with an earlier completion date will be individually reviewed. You must upload proof of your nursing training directly with the online registration as a document or send it to us by email as a scanned document. Without this proof, enrollment is not possible.

The part-time Bachelor's degree programme in Nursing (B. Sc.) at the APOLLON University of Health Economics prepares you to integrate the latest scientific findings into everyday nursing practice and thus sustainably improve the quality of care. The programme is aimed at individuals with a completed training in general nursing, paediatric nursing or geriatric nursing who are seeking academic further qualification.

During the course of studies, you will acquire comprehensive knowledge in nursing science, research methods, psychology, sociology and ethics. Additionally, you will improve your communication skills and receive a solid education in quality and process management. The practice-oriented delivery of the content ensures that you can directly apply the acquired knowledge in your professional practice.

A particular focus is placed on the transfer of theory into practice, enabling you to teach, advise and support other nursing professionals. By individually selecting two out of six elective modules, such as Palliative Care or Nursing Consultation and Case Management, you can further sharpen your profile and focus on specific subject areas.

The degree programme allows you to achieve the Bachelor's degree in a shortened period of time by having 90 ECTS credits in the competence area of "nursing action" credited to you. This way, you can obtain the degree in just 18 or 24 months instead of the regular 36 or 48 months.

Upon completion of the studies, you will be well prepared for diverse activities in training, consultation and quality assurance in the field of nursing. The programme also qualifies you to provide practical training, thereby enhancing your job prospects. Furthermore, the programme offers the opportunity to obtain up to three additional certificates, such as Nursing Consultation according to § 7a SGB XI, expanding your professional options.
