The study programme comprises 180 credit points and is designed to be undertaken alongside work, with full-time and part-time options. The curriculum includes 34 modules, encompassing general vocational education components as well as specific elective modules in the field of nursing or social work.
Students are prepared for a variety of tasks, including delivering training units in businesses, organizations, and in further education. The face-to-face study phases consist of 270 hours, while virtual and interactive online teaching sessions amount to 620-640 hours. Additionally, 540 hours are allocated to independent study at the practice location. The study duration is 36 months full-time and 48 months part-time. The programme offers a tailored learning experience through flexible start dates and individual study speeds.
Overall, the programme places a strong emphasis on the practical applicability of the acquired knowledge and prepares students effectively for their future roles in the education sector for nursing and social professions.
The programme is accredited by the Accreditation Council from 2021 to 2029, ensuring the high quality of education. The APOLLON University of Health Economics provides a solid education for professionals in the health and social sector who wish to expand their expertise and share it with others through their vocational education programme.
There are two mandatory practical phases that form a central part of the programme. The first practical phase consists of 60 hours and serves as an orientation in the desired professional field. It takes the form of an internship, where students gain insights into school operations, teaching, as well as administrative tasks and conferences. This phase is scheduled between the 4th and 5th module of the programme and should be completed within three months.
The second practical phase consists of 480 hours and focuses on the active application of the knowledge acquired during the study programme. In this phase, students take on tasks independently and prepare for their teaching demonstration, which marks the end of the pedagogical part of the programme. This phase spans six months and takes place during the 8th and 9th module.
Working students have the opportunity to complete the practical phases part-time, subject to agreement with the practice facility. Under certain conditions, previous activities in adult education can be credited towards the practical hours, potentially reducing the duration of the practical phases.
