For the B.Sc./B.Eng. Medical Engineering at Wilhelm Bücher University, there are various access options:
Access Option No. 1: You have the general university entrance qualification (A-levels), the subject-specific university entrance qualification, or the subject-restricted university entrance qualification.
Access Option No. 2: You have a university entrance qualification recognized as equivalent by the Hessian Ministry of Culture (e.g. a master's degree or a qualification as a state-certified technician).
Access Option No. 3: Studying as an auditor: You begin your guest studies at our university without the three mentioned access options and after 2 semesters of performance, you take the university entrance examination. To do this, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- You have completed at least a two-year vocational training in a field related to the desired course of study according to the Vocational Training Act, the Crafts Code, regulated by federal or state law.
- You have subsequently worked in a field related to the desired course of study for at least two years on a full-time basis.
If you aim to study in a field that is not related to the completed training or professional activity, the knowledge acquired through training and professional experience must be expanded or deepened through qualified further education with a scope of at least 400 hours in a field related to the desired course of study.
After passing the university entrance examination, we will change your status from auditor to regular student.

Your Bachelor's degree in Medical Engineering at WBH is structurally modular. You study thematically closed subject areas (modules) to which credit points are assigned according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). The number of credit points assigned to each module depends on the scope of the module and the associated workload. All credit points you achieve will be credited to you and you will receive proof of this. Your achievements are thus comparable and internationally recognised.

- 4th semester: Design Theory, Electronic Circuit Technology, Digital Signal and Information Processing, Control Engineering with Laboratory, Introduction to Medical Engineering
- 5th semester: Operating Systems and Computer Architecture, Computer Aided Engineering, Medical Diagnosis and Therapy Technology, Basics of Sustainability Transformation and Digitalisation, Practical Professional Phase
- 6th semester: Medical Product Approval, Specialisation - Module I, Specialisation - Module II, Specialisation - Module III
