Which formal criteria do you have to meet?
To be admitted to the distance learning course, you need one of the following qualifications:
- General higher education entrance qualification (Abitur)
- Subject-specific higher education entrance qualification
- Advanced technical college entrance qualification
- Without (subject-specific) Abitur: Under certain conditions, you can also study without Abitur (for example, through advanced training, a successfully completed trial study or after one year of successfully completed studies at a university outside Baden-Württemberg).
In addition, relevant training or further education such as Pharmaceutical-technical assistant (PTA), Biological-technical assistant (BTA) or Master craftsman in the pharmaceutical sector can be credited and thus reduce the duration and cost of study.
On a personal level, you should have an interest in scientific fundamentals, analytical thinking and a willingness to work interdisciplinarily. Self-motivation, organisational skills and time management are crucial for self-study in distance learning. Initial experience or a basic understanding of technical or economic contexts is advantageous, but career changers with motivation for the pharmaceutical industry are also welcome.

In the Bachelor’s degree programme in Pharmaceutical Management and Technology, you acquire interdisciplinary specialist knowledge from natural sciences, pharmacy, business administration, and management. You engage with the development, manufacture, testing, and approval of medicinal products and learn to competently assess regulatory, technical, and economic requirements of the pharmaceutical industry. The curriculum includes the following main focus areas, among others:

How is the structure of the distance learning programme in Pharmaceutical Management and Technology organised?
The programme is modular and usually lasts six semesters (180 ECTS). Enrollment is possible every month. You learn flexibly within the distance learning model and work through the study content independently with digital teaching materials, e-learning offerings, and virtual seminars. Personal study counselling and optional in-person events, as well as examination centres in the German-speaking area, facilitate the organisation of your study routine.
- The modules are practice- and competence-oriented (CORE principle of SRH Fernhochschule).
- You can take exams at nine dates per year at different locations.
- A practical project with direct application is scheduled for the fifth semester.
- In the final semester, you complete the bachelor’s thesis.
- The duration of study can be flexibly adjusted; a free extension of the standard period of study by up to 36 months is possible upon request.

How do the costs and financing options for the Pharmaceutical Management and Technology degree programme break down?
The tuition fees are tiered and depend on the chosen payment model, each including a €1,000 starting bonus:
- Flex 1: 36 months at €421.22 monthly (Total: €15,163.92)
- Flex 2: 50 months at €329.00 monthly (Total: €16,450.00)
- Flex 3: 72 months at €235.11 monthly (Total: €16,927.92)
The standard period of study is 36 months; a free extension of up to 36 months is possible. For professionally qualified persons, such as those with training as a PTA, BTA, or industrial supervisor in pharmacy, up to 18 ECTS are credited depending on scope, which can reduce fees by up to €720.
Financing can be arranged via instalment models, tax consideration as income-related expenses, education loans or sponsorships (e.g., from employers). The Deutschlandstipendium and other scholarship programmes are also available as support. The entire study organisation is designed to ensure flexibility and compatibility with work and private life.
