Study Concept and Process
We are convinced that exams in written form are not suitable for reflecting your actual acquired skills. Therefore, in this study programme, you will find few written exams in written form. We test your learning progress during the study and online through assignments, online presentations and speeches, or in so-called E-portfolios. For you, this means: No travel effort for exams and less exam stress – thus, a fair chance for excellent performance evaluations corresponding to your actual knowledge and skills.
Balancing studies, work, and life is a significant challenge. Therefore, support during this groundbreaking phase of your life is essential: the support of your family, the understanding in your company, and, above all, the personal, consistently service-oriented support from your university. That's why we rely on a unique interdisciplinary coaching team consisting of professors, lecturers, and study coaches. Your personal study coach is your contact person for all matters related to your studies. Whether by phone, email, or via the messenger in studynet – your study coach advises and actively supports you on your way to a successful graduation. Together, we create the necessary balance and the conditions for you to continually grow in your studies – and achieve something that initially seemed so far away. Whether at home or on the go, on the desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone – your campus is always with you. Our studynet learning platform is a lecture hall, seminar room, campus, and cafeteria. "Social Learning" is the keyword: a holistic learning experience that consistently focuses on dialogue using a variety of media formats.
For example, with many features that you already know from your familiar social media platforms: Connect with each other and exchange information via messenger. Stay up to date with the Activity Board, your onlineplus timeline. And find out in your personal Learning Analytics what you have accomplished and where you stand. At the kick-off studycamp, open learning camps, as well as optional events on-site, we create opportunities to deepen and expand your contacts from the world of onlineplus. This way, you experience an active learning community that accompanies you throughout your studies and will be a valuable network for you even beyond that, as an alumnus of Hochschule Fresenius.
At onlineplus, studying is a method. Structure and pacing characterise the learning organisation at onlineplus, providing clear orientation and fundamentally distinguishing it from traditional distance learning programmes. You start flexibly at a time you set and are guided through similar structured learning units, modules, and semesters based on our study magazines, the studymags, via individually planned milestones.
This allows you to learn in manageable stages that provide regular successes and new motivation in your studies. The study plan recommended by onlineplus offers you the flexibility of numerous adjustment options that you can tailor to your personal learning type, preferred study times, and your own learning pace. This way, you find exactly the right study programme for you.
You always have full transparency: At any time, you can see your individual learning progress, what you have already achieved, where you currently stand, and exactly what lies ahead of you. The innovative and intuitive study format thus lays the foundation for the feasibility and success of your entire online study.
Tip: The costs incurred for your studies alongside work can be claimed for tax purposes at the tax office. You have two options: Either you can declare the expenses for your studies as special expenses up to an amount of 4,000 euros in your annual tax return. You can apply this option if the part-time studies are a first course of study that was not initiated by the employer for operational reasons and is not completed as part of an employment relationship.
Or you deduct the costs as work-related expenses from the tax in full. This is possible if a completed professional training or a completed first course of study preceded the part-time studies, or if the studies are ordered by the company. In this case, not only the tuition fees but also, among other things, specialist literature are considered work-related expenses. For all tax-related questions, it is best to consult your tax office or a tax advisor.
