Study Concept and Structure

We are convinced that exams in the form of written tests are not suitable for accurately assessing the competencies you have acquired. Therefore, in this degree program, you will find few written exams in test form. We test your learning progress continuously and online through assignments, online presentations, and speeches or in so-called e-portfolios. For you, this means: No travel effort for exams and less exam stress - and thus a fair chance of excellent performance evaluations that correspond to your actual knowledge and competency level.

Balancing studies, work, and life is a major challenge. This makes support in this pivotal phase of your life all the more important: the backing of your family, the understanding of your company, and above all, the personal, consistently service-oriented support from your university. That's why we rely on a unique interdisciplinary coaching team consisting of professors, lecturers, and study coaches. Your personal study coach is your contact person for all matters related to your studies. Whether by phone, email, or via the messenger on studynet - your study coach advises and actively supports you on your path to a successful study completion. Together, we create the necessary balance, thus providing the foundation for continuous growth in your studies - achieving something that seemed distant to you at the beginning. Whether at home or on the go, on desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone - your campus is always with you. Our studynet learning platform is at once an auditorium, seminar room, campus, and cafeteria. "Social Learning" is the keyword: a holistic learning experience that, in addition to using a variety of media formats, consistently builds on dialogue.

For example, with many features that you already know from your familiar social media platforms: Connect with each other and exchange ideas via the messenger. Stay up to date with the Activity Board, your onlineplus Timeline. And find out in your personal Learning Analytics what you've accomplished and where you stand. At the kick-off study camp, the open learning camps, and optionally other on-site events, we provide opportunities to deepen and expand your contacts within the world of onlineplus. This way, you experience an active learning community that accompanies you throughout your studies and will continue to be a valuable network for you beyond that, as an alumnus of Fresenius University. At onlineplus, the study is a method. Structure and pacing characterize the learning organization at onlineplus, providing clear guidance and fundamentally differentiating it from traditional distance learning programs. You can start flexibly at a time you choose and are guided through the similarly structured learning units, modules, and semesters based on our study magazines, the studymags, via individually planned milestones.

This allows you to learn in manageable stages that provide regular moments of success and new motivation in your studies. The study plan recommended by onlineplus offers you the flexibility of numerous adjustment options that you can tailor to your personal learning style, preferred study times, and your own pace. This way, you will find the exact study program that suits you.

You always have full transparency: At any time, you can see your individual learning progress, what you have already achieved, where you are currently, and exactly what lies ahead. This innovative and intuitive form of study lays the foundation for the feasibility and success of your entire online study.

Tip: You can claim tax benefits for the costs incurred for your studies alongside your job. You have two options: You can either declare the expenses for your studies as special expenses up to an amount of 4,000 euros in your annual tax return. You can apply this option if the part-time study is a first degree that was not initiated by the employer for operational reasons and is not completed as part of an employment relationship.

Alternatively, you can deduct the costs as business expenses in full from your taxes. This is possible if you have completed a vocational training or a first degree before starting the part-time study, or if the study is mandated by the company. In this case, not only the tuition fees but also, among other things, specialist literature counts as business expenses. For all tax-related questions, it is best to consult your tax office or a tax advisor.
