In the Bachelor's distance learning course in Hotel Management at IU International University (IU), you can enroll if you provide us with your A-levels (general qualification for university entrance), your advanced technical college entrance qualification (Fachabitur), or a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification.
Alternatively, you can also enroll without A-levels. Studying at IU without A-levels is possible under the following conditions:
- You have successfully completed an advanced training course, such as a training course to become a certified business economist.
- Or you have completed a vocational training, such as training as an office clerk. Following your training, you have worked in this profession full-time for at least 3 years. If your training does not match the content of the Hotel Management distance learning course, you will first complete a trial study before being regularly enrolled.

Study Concept: How the Part-Time Study Program in Hotel Management at IU Works
You can customize the online study program in Hotel Management at IU International University flexibly to fit your life and daily routine as best it suits you. For example, you can choose from 3 study models: In the full-time program, you will need a total of 6 semesters, i.e., 36 months, to complete the bachelor's degree. In part-time program I, you will study for 8 semesters until graduation. Or you can opt for part-time program II and take 12 semesters to complete the bachelor's degree.
You will receive study materials from IU with each module assignment as printed study booklets. All materials are also available to you digitally. The IU Interactive Books are innovative study scripts enriched with video clips and quiz questions at the end of a lesson. Depending on the module, study materials are supplemented with podcasts, live tutorials, and video content in the form of so-called shortcasts. You can access the IU Interactive Books through the convenient IU Learn app.
In many modules, virtual lectures are also offered, allowing you to interactively engage with your fellow students and lecturers.
Exceptionally practical and flexible is the option to take module exams in the form of online exams. You can take an online exam 7 days a week, around the clock - and that's when you feel optimally prepared for the exam, for example, in Building Construction. Additionally, we operate about 40 exam centers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland where you can take your exams in the traditional way on-site.
