The distance learning course is aimed at individuals who wish to acquire or deepen expertise in the field of real estate management with a special focus on sustainability. What formal admission requirements apply?
You can be admitted to the distance learning course "Sustainable Real Estate Management, B.Eng." at Hochschule Fresenius if one of the following requirements is met:
- General university entrance qualification (Abitur) or subject-specific university entrance qualification (Fachabitur), each possibly taking into account regional regulations and, if applicable, subject restrictions
- Subject-specific university entrance qualification suitable for the chosen field of study
- Vocational training and professional experience: At least 2 years of recognised vocational training in a related field and at least 2 years of full-time professional experience thereafter. In addition, a subject-specific university entrance examination must be passed.
- Completion of an advanced training qualification (e.g. master craftsman, technician, specialist, business administrator) with a minimum of 400 hours. Here too, a subject-specific university entrance examination is required.
- Alternatively: With an intermediate school leaving certificate and at least 3 years of recognised vocational training (final grade at least 2.5), possibly with an aptitude test in case of a lower grade or other special cases. In these cases, access can also be granted by successfully earning 18 ECTS credits in the first semester or 30 ECTS credits in the first academic year (study agreement).
The university also examines individual educational paths on a case-by-case basis and recognises relevant prior achievements where applicable. There is no numerus clausus (NC). The start of studies is possible at the beginning of any month.
Personally, you should have an interest in economic, technical and ecological issues related to real estate and construction. Independent and self-organised learning is necessary in distance learning – planning skills, discipline and the ability to collaborate digitally facilitate success in your studies. Analytical skills, communication competence and basic computer skills are advantageous. Professional experience in real estate, construction or facility management is helpful but not mandatory.

How much does the distance learning programme in Sustainable Real Estate Industry at Hochschule Fresenius cost?
Hochschule Fresenius offers three flexible time models for the distance learning programme in Sustainable Real Estate Industry with study durations of 36, 48 or 72 months. The standard study period is 36 months (6 semesters). The most affordable time model (72 months) starts from 259 euros per month. The shortest model (36 months) has higher monthly rates, but the total cost is only 14.220 euros.
The tuition fees include all digital study materials, access to the online library and learning platform, personal support from study coaches and lecturers, examination fees for online exams, and international certificates and masterclasses from Arizona State University (ASU®). There are no hidden additional costs.
Various financing options are available: BAföG is possible for distance learning under certain conditions, as are the KfW student loan and the German government's education loan. Scholarships such as the Deutschlandstipendium or university-internal programmes may also apply. Many employers support part-time studies as part of professional development.
