Here are the admission requirements for the Bachelor's in Facility Management
You can enroll in the Bachelor's distance learning programme in Facility Management at the IU International University (IU) if you provide us with your A-levels (general higher education entrance qualification), your specialized A-levels (technical college entrance qualification), or a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification.
Alternatively, you can also enroll without A-levels. Studying without A-levels at IU is possible under the following conditions:
- You have successfully completed an advanced training course, for example, a training course to become a state-certified business economist.
- Or you have completed an apprenticeship, for example, as an office clerk. After completing your apprenticeship, you have worked full-time in this profession for at least 3 years. If your apprenticeship does not match the thematic focus of the Facility Management distance learning programme, you will first complete a trial study before being regularly enrolled.
In addition, you must demonstrate your English proficiency, for example, with TOEFL (at least 80 points), IELTS (at least Level 6), Duolingo English Test (at least 95 points), or a Cambridge Certificate. Alternatively, you can take a free English course directly at IU International University.

Learning Concept: How the Part-time Study of Facility Management Works at IU
You can adjust the online study of Facility Management at IU International University flexibly to fit your life and everyday routine as it suits you best. For example, you can choose one of 3 study models: In the full-time study, you need a total of 6 semesters, or 36 months, to complete the Bachelor's degree. In part-time study I, you study for 8 semesters until graduation. Or you opt for part-time study II and take up to 12 semesters to complete the Bachelor's degree.
With each module you register for, you will receive study materials at IU as printed study booklets. All materials are also available to you digitally. The IU Interactive Books are innovative learning scripts enriched with video clips and quiz questions at the end of a lesson. Depending on the module, the study materials are complemented by podcasts, live tutorials, and video content in the form of so-called shortcasts. You can access the IU Interactive Books via the practical IU Learn App.
In many modules, virtual lectures are also offered, allowing you to interactively engage with your fellow students and lecturers.
Especially convenient and flexible: the option to take module exams in the form of online exams. You can take an online exam 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - whenever you feel best prepared for the exam, for example, in construction design. Furthermore, we operate around 40 exam centres in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, where you can also take your exams in the traditional way on-site.
