There are two ways to qualify for the MBA programme in Media Management:
- Previous Studies and Work Experience: You need a completed Bachelor's degree with at least 180 ECTS credits and at least one year of work experience after obtaining the Bachelor's degree.
- Practical Work Experience and Entrance Examination: Alternatively, you can apply without a Bachelor's degree if you can demonstrate at least one year of relevant work experience and successfully pass an entrance examination.
The technical requirements include access to a PC, stable Internet connection, as well as a webcam and microphone for examinations.
Procedure for the Entrance Examination for access to the MBA without a Bachelor's degree
The entrance examination consists of a written exam and an oral examination, both to be completed on the same day.
Interested individuals can register online for one of the monthly examination dates via the registration form. The maximum number of participants per session is limited to 10 individuals.
To participate, evidence of at least one year of practical work experience is required. Cancellation or rescheduling of the entrance examination is possible free of charge up to one week before the examination date.
A one-time fee of 200 € is charged for the entrance examination, which also includes the opportunity for a re-examination. This fee will be refunded upon passing the examination and subsequent commencement of studies.
Part 1 "Businesses and Environment" and Part 2 "Marketing" from the 10th edition of "General Business Administration" by Thommen, Achleitner, Gilbert, Hachmeister, Jarchow, and Kaiser, along with the accompanying workbook containing review questions that align with the examination questions, serve as preparation for the oral examination.
The entrance examination is conducted online via MS Teams. Participants must present identification at the beginning of the examination. During the examination, only the program window for the examination may be open. Headphones or aids are not permitted.
The written exam takes place between 9:00 – 10:00 am on the day of the examination, lasting a maximum of 60 minutes and consists of questions related to understanding and discussing a scientific article.
Following the written exam, the oral examination, which lasts a maximum of 45 minutes, tests knowledge in general business administration and another specific field.
The examination is conducted by an examination board, composed of a professor as chairman and a part-time lecturer from the chosen programme. The examination performance is assessed as "pass" or "fail."
Upon successful completion of the entrance examination, nothing stands in the way of starting studies in the chosen MBA distance learning programme, and the examination fee will be credited within 6 months as part of the tuition fees.
