These are the admission requirements for the Bachelor's degree in Cultural and Media Pedagogy
You can enroll in the Bachelor's distance learning programme in Cultural and Media Pedagogy at IU International University (IU) if you provide us with your university entrance qualification (Abitur), your technical college entrance qualification (Fachabitur), or your subject-specific qualification for university entrance.
Alternatively, you can also enroll without a university entrance qualification. Studying without a university entrance qualification at IU is possible under the following conditions:
- You have successfully completed an advanced training course, such as a training course to become a certified business economist.
- Or you have completed a vocational training, such as training to become an office clerk. After completing your training, you have worked for at least 3 years full-time in this profession. If your training is not thematically related to the distance learning programme in Cultural and Media Pedagogy, you will first complete a trial period before being officially enrolled.

The bachelor's programme at IU International University is modular. A module usually consists of 5 credit points (ECTS) and concludes with an examination, such as an exam or a written assignment. You complete your bachelor's degree step by step and even largely determine when you want to complete which module.
In full-time studies, you can structure your study plan as follows, for example:

You choose the first specialization module from these topics: Early childhood cultural and media education, inclusive culture and media education, culture and media education in the context of school, culture and media education in the context of integration and migration, culture and media education with adults, culture and media education with seniors.
You choose the second specialization module from these topics: Digital education, foreign languages, field of action audio production, field of action digital media production, interaction design, media distribution, media processes.
You choose the third specialization module from these topics: Audience development in cultural institutions, digital business models, event planning and management, foreign languages, sign language, field of action intercultural and non-profit, media economy and processes, online and social media marketing, practical social economics and public and non-profit management, general studies.
Study Concept: How the Part-Time Study Programme in Cultural and Media Education at IU Works
The online study programme in cultural and media education at IU International University can be flexibly adapted to your life and daily routine to suit you best. For example, you choose one of 3 study models: In the full-time programme, you need a total of 6 semesters, or 36 months, to complete the bachelor's degree. In part-time study I, you study for 8 semesters until completion. Or you opt for part-time study II and take 12 semesters to complete the bachelor's degree.
You will receive study materials from IU with each module registration as printed study booklets. Naturally, all materials are also available to you digitally. The IU Interactive Books are innovative learning scripts enriched with video clips and quiz questions at the end of a lesson. Depending on the module, study materials are supplemented with podcasts, live tutorials, and video content in the form of so-called Shortcasts. You can access the IU Interactive Books via the practical IU Learn app.
In many modules, virtual lectures are also offered, allowing you to interactively engage with your fellow students and lecturers.
Extremely practical and flexible: the option to take module exams in the form of online exams. You can take an online exam 7 days a week, 24 hours a day - whenever you feel best prepared for the exam, such as in construction preparation. Additionally, we operate about 40 exam centres in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, where you can also take your exams in the traditional way onsite.
