Admission requirements
Requirement: a first university degree and at least 12 months of professional work experience. In justified exceptional cases, the examination board may deviate from the requirement of a university degree.
Applicants from non-German-speaking countries must demonstrate good knowledge of the German language, at least at level B2/C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or an equivalent. This corresponds, for example, to successfully passing the TestDaF TDN 4 or DSH Level II.

The distance learning Master's programme in Cultural and Media Management at the University of Music and Theatre Hamburg is aimed at those who aspire to a leadership role in institutions and projects in the cultural and media industry. The course lasts for 4 semesters and can be completed flexibly and independently of location. It comprises 120 ECTS points.
The programme covers topics such as Cultural Leadership in Arts and Media, legal and regulatory frameworks, Fundraising & Sponsoring, and Transformation. The content is organized into modules, which consist of sub-modules and include both self-learning materials and teaching sessions.
