Admission requirements
You need to have the general (subject-specific) higher education entrance qualification or an equivalent school leaving certificate. In addition, you need work experience or a minimum of a three-month internship in the communication or media industry. This proof can be provided or submitted by the beginning of the third semester. Seven years of school English or English skills at level B2 are also required. Don't have a high school diploma? No problem. Even without a university degree, you can be admitted to study at IST University if you can provide a master craftsman's certificate, an advanced training qualification, or a completed vocational training with three years of work experience.

Aim:
In this programme, you will qualify as a communication and media professional. During the course of study, you will acquire important knowledge in the fields of media science, management, economics and communication management. Upon successful completion, you will be able to take on central business activities and implement strategies in a targeted and independent manner. Through market and trend observations and thoughtful image work, you can respond specifically to customer wishes and contribute significantly to the success of the company.
Content:
During the programme, you will gain solid knowledge of economics and essential social and leadership skills necessary for positions in executive communication and media management. At the same time, industry experts will impart to you solid communication knowledge and extensive media know-how. With the help of various exciting elective modules, you can also tailor and personalise your studies according to your personal interests.
Type of Programme:
The Bachelor's degree in "Communication & Media Management" is completed through distance learning. The theoretical content is conveyed through specially prepared study materials and modern e-learning methods such as online lectures, tutorials and webinars. Some modules include additional seminar days where you, for example, go on an excursion behind the scenes of a radio station, meet media experts, and deepen your theoretically acquired knowledge. This also offers you the opportunity to network with your fellow students and lecturers. At the end of each module, there is an exam. Exams can be taken in nine German cities, in Innsbruck (Austria), or partly online per semester. Upon completion of this distance learning programme, you will receive 180 European Credit Points.
