Access requirements for the MBA "Digital Transformation"
The "MBA Digital Transformation" program at ELG E-Learning Group is designed for professionals who already have a completed bachelor's degree or a comparable qualification and now want to deepen their knowledge in the field of digital transformation and successfully manage digital business models, innovations, and knowledge in the digital age in their professional careers.
The access requirements include:
- A completed subject-relevant bachelor's degree (min. 180 ECTS)
- OR completion of another subject-relevant study of at least the same level of tertiary education at a recognized domestic or foreign post-secondary education institution
- AND at least two years of professional experience
- AND language proficiency in German C1 and English B2
In addition, proof of basic knowledge in business administration is required, which may have been acquired through studies, further education, and/or professional experience.

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) of the "Digital Transformation" program is a state-accredited academic degree awarded by the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna.
This degree allows the unrestricted use of the academic title in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland and is awarded in accordance with the Austrian University of Applied Sciences Studies Act.
According to the equivalence agreement between Austria and Germany, the MBA degree from the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna is equivalent in both countries.
In Europe, the MBA is also classified according to the Bologna Process in the second stage of the study system (EQR level 7) and is therefore recognized throughout Europe and internationally.
How Distance Learning Works at ELG
Interested individuals can register online with ELG for the MBA Distance Learning "Digital Transformation" at any time throughout the year.
After registration, the submitted documents are reviewed to ensure that the admission requirements are met.
Once admitted, students receive their access data and can begin their distance learning. The exact start date is flexible and can be individually scheduled.
Subsequently, students learn independently and complete the various modules of the distance learning program one after the other. From start to finish, students are supported by ELG's Study Coaches as needed.
The minimum study period is 18 months with a maximum duration of 42 months. Study interruptions (suspensions) are possible twice for 6 months each.
The workload for the study at the minimum study time is approximately 20 hours per week. As a rule, around 25 hours per ECTS credit point apply, totaling 2250 hours over the entire scope of 90 ECTS credits.
Participants can also attend online lectures in addition to the study material, which are offered several times a month on a voluntary basis.
In each module, participants take corresponding module exams, which can be taken online at any time and also work on module project work.
Finally, students write their master's thesis as part of the last module, addressing a specific topic in the field of digital transformation. They are supported by a supervisor.
Participants present and defend their master's thesis in a three-part oral final exam, consisting of: Defense of the master's thesis, questions on the master's thesis, and questions on the course content of the completed program.
Upon successful completion, graduates receive the academic degree of "Master of Business Administration (MBA)".
