Admission requirements

The admission mode is admission-free, without a numerus clausus (possibly with registration or selection procedures). The start of studies is possible in both the summer and winter semester. Required English language skills: Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Applicants who are not German must provide proof of German language skills equivalent to at least level C1 of the CEFR. Completion of a first university degree such as Bachelor/Baccalaureus, Diploma, Master or an equally recognized degree. The required language skills can be proven through various language tests such as Cambridge (English), CEFR (English), IELTS, TOEFL IBT, UNIcert or other English language certificates. In addition to completing a first university degree, practical experience of 2 years is required to be admitted to this degree programme.

Details

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme at the University of Potsdam, with a focus on Biotechnology and Medical Technology, aims to expand the personal and professional perspectives of the participants. Through a solid education in management theory, students are enabled to connect various approaches and perspectives. Special emphasis is placed on the development of analytical and strategic thinking as well as the acquisition of leadership skills. In addition to general management content, the (particularly economic) specifics of biotechnology and medical technology are also considered.

The programme is designed for academics with a background in natural or engineering sciences who do not have a background in economics and prepares them for management and leadership roles in companies. The structure of the programme consists of a total of 15 modules with individual focuses as well as a master's thesis. Examinations must be passed after each module, and the standard period of study is four semesters in part-time mode.

Students earn a total of 65 ECTS points and must meet admission requirements such as an academic degree at the diploma or master's level, two years of work experience, and good knowledge of German and English. The tuition fee is 14,900 EUR including study materials and can be paid in five instalments.

The programme adopts an international approach to enable graduates to work in intercultural environments. Course content is delivered through blended learning, face-to-face, and distance learning phases. The teaching staff consists of academically qualified lecturers who meet the requirements of the programme.

The MBA programme is accredited by FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) with the academic degree "Master of Business Administration" (MBA) from the University of Potsdam.
