Details

The Bachelor's programme in Public Management (B.A.) expands the range of courses offered by the Euro-FH to include another business-related degree course. It is the first programme at Euro-FH to explicitly deal with the conditions and circumstances of the public sector. Sustainability management is a particularly important theme.

The aim of the programme is to convey established values and procedures of the public sector on the one hand, and future-oriented approaches to sustainable and resilient transformation of the public sector on the other. Students should be able to understand and analyse complex challenges and issues in the global, national, and regional context affecting the public sector. They are expected to develop and communicate proposals for proactively shaping a sustainable public sector based on scientifically sound and practically proven methods and insights. Public enterprises and other organizations focusing on the public sector are also addressed.

For this purpose, students acquire basic knowledge in administrative science, law, economics, and communication science. They also gain a deeper insight into the ecological framework of action for public institutions and user-centered, information technology concepts for designing public services. This enables students to understand how the strategies and measures of public institutions impact societal coexistence and social, ecological, and economic development.

A special focus of the programme is on imparting practical and labour market-relevant competences and skills (project, change, and innovation management) as well as personal skills (communication techniques). There is also a strong practical reference in the specialization options. Students can choose between various focuses directly related to current and future-oriented areas of Public Management (business management, law, IT management, personnel management, data management) or fields closely related to the public sector (consulting, politics, non-profit management, society, and change).

By covering a wide range of topics in Public Management, graduates have access to cross-functional roles - such as strategy and organizational development, project management, and sustainability management - in the public sector in ministries, authorities, and administrative departments at federal, state, and municipal levels, as well as in public enterprises and bodies, associations focusing on the public sector, and consultancy firms.
