Admission requirements
Access with 180 credits from the initial degree
With a completed, basic degree from a state or state-recognised university with at least 180 credits, you can be admitted if you:
- have at least one year of relevant work experience after the initial degree or
- have at least one year of qualified work experience after the initial degree and can provide additional 30 credits through further training measures or complete a bridging course at the Euro-FH
Access with 210 credits from the initial degree
With a completed, basic degree from a state or state-recognised university with at least 210 credits, you can be admitted if you
- have at least one year of qualified work experience after the initial degree
- if the required work experience is not fully available, the course management will decide on admission based on the complete application documents and a letter of motivation
Access without a university degree for experienced executives
- If you have completed professional training and have at least ten years of qualifying work experience with at least six years of leadership responsibilities, you can be admitted through our Master's entry program
Details
The Master's programme in Controlling and Management (M.Sc.) at the European Distance University in Hamburg offers a scientific and practice-oriented education for the management of companies and organisations. Students acquire knowledge in areas such as Leadership, Performance Management, Financial Business Development, Strategic Corporate Planning, Business Process Management, Company Valuation, and Digital Transformation Assessment. By selecting two elective modules from seven options, they can also specialise in areas such as E-Business, International Accounting, Risk Management, and Innovation Management.
Requirements for participation in the programme include a bachelor's degree and at least one year of relevant professional experience. The target group consists of professionals who are either seeking relevant information for leadership and strategic questions in the financial sector, are on their way to the highest management level in the field of controlling, or are already working as board members or managing directors and wish to expand their business knowledge at an academic level.
The programme includes the use of study materials, two seminars (either in person or virtual), a Virtual Seminar, and an in-person seminar for the Innovation Management and Design Thinking module. In addition, digital teaching formats such as instructional videos are used to present the learning content in a varied way.
