Admission requirements
Access with 180 credits from the first degree
With a completed, basic degree from a state or state-recognized university with at least 180 credits, you can be admitted if you
- have at least one year of relevant professional experience after the first degree OR
- have at least one year of qualified professional experience after the first degree and can provide an additional 30 credits through further education and training measures or complete a bridge course at the Euro-FH
Access with 210 credits from the first degree
With a completed, basic degree from a state or state-recognized university and at least 210 credits, you can be admitted if you
- have at least one year of relevant professional experience after the first degree
If the required professional experience is not fully available, the course management will decide on admission based on the complete application documents and a letter of motivation.
Access without a university degree for experienced executives
- If you have completed vocational training and have at least ten years of qualifying professional experience with at least six years of management responsibilities, you can be admitted through our Master's entry program
English language skills
- You have sufficient English language skills at the B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
Details
The Master's programme in Finance (M.Sc.) at the European Distance University Hamburg offers a scientific and practice-oriented education for leadership roles in the finance sector of companies and institutions. Students acquire competencies in topics such as Financial Business Development, Strategic Corporate Planning and Financial Modeling, Treasury Management, Asset Management, Financial Instruments and Financial Markets, Risk Management, Enterprise Resource Planning/SAP as well as Fintech Innovations. They can also specialise in specific areas such as Real Estate, M&A, International Accounting, Insolvency Law, Crisis Management and (international) Taxes.
Professionals with relevant work experience who wish to deepen their knowledge of financial leadership and strategic issues are eligible to participate. This programme also targets future executives and managing directors who want to further develop their business management skills at an academic level. The course content includes the use of study booklets, a seminar (optional on-site or virtual), a Virtual Seminar, a Webinar and various digital learning components such as instructional videos.
The programme at the Euro-FH in Hamburg can be completed via distance learning on a full-time or part-time basis and lasts for six quarters. A bachelor's degree and at least one year of relevant work experience since the first degree are required.
