These are the admission requirements for the Master's programme in Finance, Accounting, and Taxation
The Master's in Finance, Accounting, and Taxation lasts 3 semesters in full-time study, 3-6 semesters in part-time study.
Required are:
- a first degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Management with a minimum of 210 ECTS credits
- Graduation from a state or state-recognized university or college
- Minimum grade of "Satisfactory"
Those who have completed their Bachelor's with a grade of "Sufficient" (up to 4.0) can still be admitted to a Master's or MBA programme if:
- they have a Bachelor's degree (grade 3.5 - 4.0) from a state or state-recognized university and
- they have relevant study achievements from a Master's/MBA at a state or state-recognized university, relevant to the desired Master's/MBA, with a minimum of 30 ECTS points or
- they have a relevant completed Master's/MBA from a state or state-recognized university
or
- they have relevant, creditable non-academic qualifications such as further education at DQR7 level or - for foreign qualifications like Postgraduate Diplomas - equivalent to DQR7 level, relevant to the desired Master's/MBA, with a minimum of 30 ECTS points
Foreign applicants also need to demonstrate their German language skills, for example, through TestDaF, DSH, Telc, or ÖSD.

Study Concept: How the part-time Study in Finance, Accounting, and Taxation works at IU
The online study programme in Finance, Accounting, and Taxation at IU International University can be flexibly adjusted to fit your life and daily routine. For example, you can choose from 3 study models: In the full-time programme, you need a total of 3 semesters, or 18 months, to complete the Master's. In part-time study I, you study for 4 semesters until completion. Or you can opt for part-time study II and take 6 semesters to complete your Master's.
You will receive study materials from IU in printed study booklets with each module registration. All materials are also available digitally. The IU Interactive Books are innovative learning scripts enriched with video clips and quiz questions at the end of each lesson. Depending on the module, study materials are supplemented with podcasts, live tutorials, and video content in the form of so-called shortcasts. You can access the IU Interactive Books via the convenient IU Learn app.
In many modules, virtual teaching events are also offered, allowing you to interact interactively with your fellow students and lecturers.
Especially practical and flexible is the option to take module exams in the form of online exams. You can take an online exam 24/7, 7 days a week - whenever you feel best prepared for the exam in, for example, building construction. Additionally, we operate around 40 exam centres in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, where you can also take your exams in the traditional way on-site.
