Admission requirements
The admission requirement is the professional qualification obtained from a university degree program comprising 210 ECTS credits. Additionally, a qualified professional experience of at least one year following the first university degree program is required.
If an applicant from the previous study program with a first professional qualification has at least 180 but fewer than 210 ECTS credits, the applicant must submit evidence of knowledge and skills acquired outside the university for recognition in the master's program. Currently, qualified professional experience of up to 30 ECTS credits can be recognized.

Details
The Master Public Administration prepares for leadership positions and/or higher-level specialist tasks in public administration. It responds to the imminent shortage of skilled workers in the public sector and the associated increasing demand for innovative, high-performance, and competent leaders who actively shape and implement the reform process of public administration.
Designed as a distance learning course, it enables studying alongside work. All learning content is conveyed through the "Blended Learning" teaching and learning concept, with online and face-to-face phases systematically integrated. Each module has its own developed Blended Learning concept. The competence goals can thus be optimally achieved. The Moodle learning platform used enables flexible and efficient learning.
The Master Public Administration provides the study content in a compact form based on the latest scientific findings and consistently high practical relevance. Its interdisciplinary approach and consistent practical orientation characterize the degree programme. In particular, the relevant professional experience of the students is continuously integrated into the individual modules. The students work in all areas and levels of public administration, promoting intense exchange and stimulating a cross-cutting transfer of thought beyond their own perspective.
The Master Public Administration uses an integrated teaching and learning concept (Blended Learning).
"Traditional" face-to-face events are linked with modern forms of e-learning. The systematic integration of online and face-to-face phases ensures optimal learning progress and success.
Face-to-face events
Self-study is complemented by around four face-to-face weekends per semester. They take place on Fridays (usually) in the afternoons and on Saturdays all day at the premises of the Berlin School of Economics and Law at the Lichtenberg campus.
The face-to-face weekends are used for the targeted application, verification, and deepening of selected learning content. Among other things, they provide space for interactive learning formats such as planning and role-playing games.
