Who is the distance learning course in fitness training and management suitable for?
The Bachelor's distance learning course in fitness training and management is aimed at individuals who are passionate about sports, training, and health promotion, and who want to turn their passion for fitness into a career. It is designed for both newcomers with a high school diploma and professionals in the fitness industry who are looking to obtain a nationally recognized qualification. The course also caters to career changers without a high school diploma but with relevant professional training and practical experience. It is particularly suitable for those looking to take on responsibilities in the sports, fitness, health, or wellness industry – whether as a fitness trainer, in fitness studio management, corporate health management, fitness marketing, sports therapy, or as a speaker in the healthcare sector.
Admission Requirements: How to gain access to the course
There are various pathways to gaining admission to the Bachelor's course in fitness training and management at EHiP. A numerus clausus (NC) is not required. You can be admitted if at least one of the following formal requirements is met:
- General higher education entrance qualification (A levels)
- Vocational baccalaureate diploma
- Subject-specific higher education entrance qualification
- Specialized further education qualification (e.g. specialist business administrator, business economist, technician, master craftsman, certified accountant, specialist merchant)
- Access without A levels through vocational training: A minimum of two years of completed vocational training and up to three years of relevant work experience in a related area qualify for a trial study program according to state higher education laws §58 paragraph 3
Your professional aptitude will be assessed as part of a trial study program for admission without A levels through vocational qualifications. Previously acquired examination or training accomplishments may be credited towards the course – subject to individual assessment – thereby reducing the duration and fees of the study.
Additional criteria and possible evidence must be provided to the Central Prevention Testing Agency (ZPP) for later recognition as a course leader in the prevention sector, for example for services under §20 SGB V.
Personal requirements include a strong interest in sports, training, health, and business-related contexts. You should bring self-motivation, organizational skills, and discipline for independent digital distance learning. Having initial practical experience in a fitness context – such as through coaching jobs, teaching, internships, or specific licenses (e.g. fitness trainer B license) – is advantageous but not mandatory. Communication skills, empathy, and a willingness for continuous further education and openness to digital tools (e-learning, online exams) facilitate successful completion of the course.
