Your Bachelor's degree at UIS can be started at any time. The degree programme is designed for distance learning and does not require any presence obligations or times. You can therefore flexibly design your studies at your individual learning pace. You decide for yourself when to complete which examination performance and can thus prepare optimally.
In the first semester, you will learn the basics of business administration as well as the skills for developing and conducting empirical research in the field of economics. Subsequently, you will be provided with a comprehensive understanding of accounting and an overview of macroeconomic and particularly microeconomic topics in the business context. The first semester concludes with financial mathematical issues and the application of statistical methods.
In the second semester, you will first deal with the preparation of financial statements, approaches to corporate management, and marketing. This is followed by content building on the first macroeconomic module before finally addressing the key areas of German economic law.
The third semester begins with an introduction to cost and performance accounting as well as controlling, before the principles of corporate investment and financing are taught. The third semester concludes with the basics of business informatics.
In the following semester, you will first focus on project and process management before the areas of personnel management, entrepreneurship, and business start-ups are covered. The fourth semester is complemented by knowledge of German commercial, corporate, and insolvency law, as well as business English.
In the fifth semester, the last compulsory module is completed with the topic of tax law, before the three modules of the specialisation begin.
The sixth semester concludes with the Bachelor's thesis.
