Admission requirements

first completed degree in business studies (Bachelor, Diploma or equivalent qualifications) from a state or state-recognized university (university of applied sciences/university) or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited business studies program at a vocational academy English language skills at level B2 of the Common European Framework (CEF); to be proven by the end of the first semester at the latest, for example by:

HFH offers an interview in English at level B2 as an equivalent qualification.

The distance learning programme Master of Business Administration at HFH · Hamburger Fernhochschule aims to give graduates of a first degree in business administration the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and develop a specialized professional profile. The course is aimed at bachelor graduates in business administration, economics, industrial engineering, business law, and related fields of study. Students can choose between specializations in Human Resources Management, Controlling, and Marketing.

The part-time designed Master's programme consists of four semesters with an additional semester for completing the Master's thesis. The study contents cover a variety of business topics, including Strategic Management, Corporate Governance, Growth and Business Cycles, and Research Methods in the first semester. The second semester includes modules such as Commercial and Corporate Law, Electronic Business, and Business Planning.

The focus of the third semester is on modern teamwork methods and a Business Simulation that deepens the understanding of business interrelationships in management. The fourth semester deals with Intercultural Management and other complex exercises. The Master's thesis is completed part-time in the fifth semester.

The programme offers location-independent access to lectures and exams, enabling an optimal balance between work and studies. HFH also provides comprehensive support through numerous study centres in Germany and Austria.
